Friends and Alumni

Friends and Alumni Fund

The Friends and Alumni Fund was established in 1994, originally focussing on fundraising for resources which would benefit our students. Since then it has been receiving regular covenanted donations from parents, friends and alumni with the intention of expanding the educational experience of all students at CAP schools. The Trustees would like to develop the charity further in order to be able to provide even more activities plus the equipment and resources that are required.

Over the years, the charity has made substantial donations to our schools for a range of of different projects including:

  • £25,000 donated for ICT Equipment
  • £4,000 (special appeal to Cambridge Colleges) donated for Gifted & Talented students
  • £5,000 donated for the redesign of the quad at Parkside to include an outdoor stage
  • £50,000 for development of the Mitchell Library
  • £5,000 towards the installation of a climbing wall
  • £3,000 towards coaching for Sports after school clubs
  • £3,000 towards equipment for Duke of Edinburgh expeditions
  • £1,000 for radio microphones for English Drama projects

We would be very grateful if you would consider making a donation, either as a single gift or a regular covenant which will help to continue the enrichment experiences of our students.

Single gift payments can be made via PMX Parentmail, or a regular covenant can be made using the standing order form here. A copy of the Privacy Policy can be downloaded here.

Constitution

CCEF was the Foundation Trust of the Parkside Federation, a partnership between Parkside Community College and Coleridge Community College and Ridgefield Primary School. The Federation converted to an Academy Trust in March 2011 (initially named Parkside Federation Academies and later Cambridge Academic Partnership (CAP)).

The Charity continued its strong relationship with CAP when it became a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) and within the Articles of Association had the right to appoint Members to the Trust. The CAP MAT has now closed and the CAP schools have formed the United Learning Cambridge Cluster. CCEF remains a separate charity but retains its close links with the Cluster.

Activities

The charity’s objectives are to advance the education of pupils or students attending any cluster school or any CCEF foundation school, and to promote education of the wider community within the City of Cambridge, both young people and adults, maintaining commitment at all times to:-

  1. meeting the educational needs and aspirations of the pupils of the schools;
  2. addressing the educational needs and aspirations and promoting cohesion in  the community resident within the City of Cambridge;
  3. equality of access and opportunity for all;
  4. excellence in teaching and learning; and
  5. active collaboration with educational and other partner
